Liquid Screed Installations

We can supply various screeds, from fast setting and liquid screed, to anhydrite and cementitious screed. Liquid screeds are becoming more and more popular and it’s now the market leader in a lot of European countries. It’s premixed and the viscidity is always checked before the installation to make sure it meets the manufacturer’s standards for installation. Liquid flowing screed can be laid at a lower depth than traditional screeding which is the main reason why it has become a more popular option than using sand and cement. This also means that it sets quicker, meaning you can lay a floor finish sooner than on a traditional screed.

Liquid screed is very quick to install, taking only a day to install over 800m2 compared to just 150m2 for traditional screed in a day.

If you are looking for more information about liquid screed, feel free to take a read of our blog post about the benefits of it.

Popular Anhydrite Screeding Service

At Paul Villiers Floor Screeding, we are experts in anhydrite screeding, this liquid screed is gaining in popularity due to its many benefits.  Anhydrite screed can be pumped straight into the place of application, creating a fine finish in less time. With this rapid installation, screeding can be done very quickly for larger areas and can be walked in 24-48 hours. It can be laid a lot thinner than traditional screeds, while also being much less vulnerable to cracking than its traditional counterpart.

The most common and best available brands of anhydrite screed that we use are Bardon Highflow, Lafarge Gyvlon, Tarmac Truflo and Cemex Supaflo. All of these options have benefits and drawbacks depending on your project’s needs.

Cementitious Screed

Cementitious screed is ideal for thinner coverage, such as covering underfloor heating adding amount of minimum thickness and also has good thermal properties so is ideal for wet rooms and bathrooms. Cementitious screed has a low shrinkage rate and self-compacting, is suitable for large flooring areas and is quick to apply by a professional.

Over the years, we’ve gained a lot of experience using this type of screed so you can rely on us to do a great job for you.

Liquid Screed Drying Times

With ideal drying conditions, which mean a warm and well-ventilated room, flowing screeds dry approximately at a rate of 1mm per day up to a 40mm thickness and 1/2mm per day for thicker floors. Please note that this is just an approximate and screed drying speed is hugely influenced by the individual site conditions. After the screed is dried the moisture must be tested to determine whether it is suitable to lay floor finishes on it.
